- Login to your Seattle Services Portal account or create an account
- On the Home page, under Create New, click Rental Housing Registrations (RRIO)
- On the next screen, click on the Rental Property Registration bubble, and then click Continue Application
- Search for a property by entering the street address, then click Search
Our system no longer uses the parcel number. The parcel field will be filled with a number used internally. Using your King County parcel number will not return a result. Please use your street address instead.
- If the search has a single result, the address will auto-populate in the screen.
- If the search has multiple results, you should see a page like the one below. Click on the Selection Bubble of the correct property address.
- Click Select; the address will be populated in the screen
- Click Continue Application
- Enter your contact information
You need to enter 3 contact types; Owner, Applicant, and Tenant Contact for Repairs. These can be the same person but must be entered separately.
- Use the Select from Account, Add New, or Look up buttons
- Indicate the type of contact (Owner, Applicant, and Tenant Contact for Repairs)
- Add the next contact until you have all three as shown below. (You may enter additional contact types in addition to the three required.)
- Click Continue Application
- Enter the number of Rental Units information
- Under the Rental Units section, click the Arrow next to Add Units if you have multiple units (or just click Add Unit if you only have one unit)
- Select the number of rows to add (one per unit)
- Enter the unit number and indicate if it is a top or bottom floor, otherwise leave the check boxes empty
- Click Submit
- Declare that your property meets the RRIO standards by checking the box and selecting Owner/Owner’s Agent or Inspection by Qualified Rental Housing Inspector from the dropdown menu
- Click Continue Application
- Use the Selection Bubble to indicate if you have made improvements to the property specifically to meet RRIO guidelines
- If you click yes; use the Selection Boxes to indicate the types of updates that you made
- Click Continue Application
- Review the entered information; use Edit to make changes
- Click Continue Application
- Review your fees, then click Checkout
- Click Checkout again
- Enter your payment card information (or follow the instructions in How Do I Pay by Check?)
- Click Submit Payment
- Review your receipt
