There are several different types of statuses related to a complaint record. Below are the possible statuses and their descriptions.
| Status | Description |
| Initiated | A record was created. |
| Under Investigation | We’re in the early investigation or inspection process. |
| Open Duplicate | The record is a duplicate compliant. We're waiting for a resolution of the original complaint to respond. |
| Warning | A warning gives the recipient a deadline to resolve the issue before more formal enforcement. |
| NOV Issued | A notice of violation is a formal enforcement document with a deadline and potential penalties. |
| Citation Issued | A citation is a formal enforcement document that says a violation was documented and includes a fine. |
| Emergency / Vacate Order Issued | An emergency / vacate order requires immediate action to resolve the issue. |
| Hazard Correction Order Issued | A hazard correction order requires immediate resolution or an engineer’s report. |
| EO Repair Restore Issued | An emergency order to repair or restore requires the issue to be resolved on a very short deadline. |
| EO Vacate Close Issued | An emergency order to close means any occupants must vacate a building if the problem cannot be fixed on a very short deadline. |
| Abatement | The City is taking action to resolve the issue when the property owner does not. |
| Stop Work Issued | We issued a stop work order because the work being done must stop immediately. |
| Partial Stop Work Issued | We issued a partial stop work order because some of the work being done must stop immediately. |
| Referred to Law | The case is being referred to the City Attorney’s office to resolve the issue through a legal process. |
| Compliance Achieved | The violation was corrected. |
| Closed | The record is closed. A record may be closed for a variety of reasons. |
| Completed | This complaint process is finished. If a violation has been confirmed, then there may be other processes continuing under a different case number. |
