How to Renew an Existing Tree Service Provider Registration

Your registration as a tree service provider expires after one year. You must renew your registration on an annual basis. During your renewal, you can update your business information (name, contact, etc.) and the registration requirements for Washington state L&I contractor licensing, insurance, or ISA certified arborist credentials.

Your renewal period begins 45-days before the expiration date of your tree service provider registration. We will email you a reminder. 

To renew your Tree Service Provider Registration, you must be signed into your Seattle Services Portal account.

Steps to Renew Your Tree Service Provider Registration

To renew your tree service provider registration, follow these steps.

1. Login to your Seattle Services Portal account
2. Select My Records 
   

3. Locate your Tree Service Provider Registration line and click on Renew Application
   This option allows you to update your registration requirements and renew your application. Your application will be pre-loaded with the information you previously provided when registering. You can simply update those fields to reflect updates and changes as necessary.

4. Review the Contact Information
5. To update the Applicant, Financially Responsible Party, or Other Contact information, click Remove
6. Follow prompts and then click on Look Up and enter updated applicant information
7. Click Continue Application
8. Enter any updates to the required Public Registry Information
9. Enter Yes or No under Registry Application for each of the two registries listed (SDCI and/or SDOT).
   

   Upon review and approval of your revision request, your updated information will be published in the Tree Service Provider Directory.

10. Enter any updates to the required City Business License Details
    

    If the license number is not active, you must resolve the issue with FileLocal before you can submit your application. Select the Save and Resume Later button (located at the bottom right of the page) to continue your application later.

11. Unless you only provide tree consulting services, enter any updates to your active Washington L&I Contractor License Number so the system can confirm the status of your license

12. Enter any updates to the Certificate of Insurance information
13. Click the Checkboxes to acknowledge all authorized representatives have read and will comply with the Registration Requirements

14. Review and update the International Society for Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist information (check the box on the line to be updated)
    1. To remove expired Certified Arborists who have not renewed their credentials or are no longer with your company, check the box next to each row to be deleted and click Delete Selected 
    2. To update Certified Arborist information with new expiration dates, check the box next to all rows to be updated and click Edit Selected; make all updates needed and click Submit 
       
15. To add new Certified Arborist staff, click on Add a Row, or click on the Dropdown Arrow and select the number of rows to add
16. After entering the information, click Submit
    

    Note: At least one ISA Certified Arborist, with an expiration date greater than today’s date, must be provided to submit your application.

17. Click Continue Application
18. Upload the following documentation to support your registration revisions
    1. Certificate of Insurance for the General Liability policy; view Tip 242C, SDCI Tree Service Provider Registry, for insurance requirements. For assistance, please contact your insurance broker or agent.
    2. Insurance Endorsement naming City of Seattle as an additional insured on the General Liability policy (CG2012 or equivalent is acceptable;) view Tip 242C, SDCI Tree Service Provider Registry, for insurance requirements. For assistance, please contact your insurance broker or agent.
    3. Provide your City of Seattle Business License if your Customer Number has changed.
    4. If you updated your International Society for Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist information, provide an ISA Certified Arborist card for each updated credential. The card must include the credential holder name, certification number, and expiration date. If applicable, the card should also include the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) expiration date.
19. Click Select to upload documents
20. Click Select again to find your files on your computer
21. Select your file (you can select multiple files)
22. Click Done
23. Once all documents are uploaded, select the Type for each uploaded document
    
24. Click Save
25. Click Continue Application
26. Review your application; click the Edit button if you need to make changes
27. Check the certification Checkbox to sign your application; the date field is automatically set to the current date
    
28. Click Continue Application to submit your application

You will receive a Thank You message to confirm that we have received your application. This message includes your Tree Service Provider record number and instructions for submitting questions. You will also receive a confirmation email.
