If you need to do grading between November 1 and March 31, you may need to get a grading season extension. If your project includes Geotechnical Special Inspections AND if your project is in an Environmentally Critical Area (ECA) or involves a large quantity of earth-moving, your project may have grading season requirements.
- Log into your Seattle Services Portal or cerate one if necessary
- Click the Go to All Records Search button
- Enter your Record Number
- Click Search
- Enter your Record Number
- Find the Special Inspection record in the search results, if you have more than one you may need to check all of them
- Click on the Special Inspection hyperlinked Record Number
- Scroll down the Record Details page to the Application Information section to confirm that the Special Inspection Category is Geotechnical
NOTE: if you can’t locate the Special Inspection Category you’ll need to open a different record
- In Other Information, check to see if the Inspection Type is Monitor Grading Season Restriction
- If there are associated comments, follow those directions
- If there are not associated comments, you need to apply for a Grading Season Extension (see Director's Rule 26-2015 for instructions)
