How to Read the Report and Understand the Active Uses
This section explains how to read the information in the report and how to determine which uses are still active.
First, run your report. For step-by-step instructions, see How to Run the Use Status Report.
Permit Summary
At the top of the report, you’ll find:
- Record – The permit record number
- Uses Active On – The date the report was run
- Current Permit Expiration – The date the permit expires
- Completed Inspections – The total number of inspections completed for this permit
Active Uses
The Active Uses section lists right-of-way (ROW) uses that are currently valid and in effect on your permit.
For each active use, the report shows:
- Use Code – The code associated with the permitted use
- Permitted Use Description – The type of work or activity approved
- Start Date / End Date – The approved dates for the use
- Duration – The total number of calendar days approved
- Total Days in ROW – The number of days the right-of-way is occupied
- Work Days – The approved work schedule (for example, every day)
- Space – The approved space designation
- Spatial Location Description – The location of the permitted work
Expired Uses
The Expired Uses section shows uses that were previously approved but are no longer active.
This section includes the same details as Active Uses, allowing you to:
- View past use dates
- Confirm completed or closed work
- Reference historical right-of-way activity
Why You May See Both Active and Expired Uses
A single permit record may include multiple uses over time. Active uses represent current approvals, while expired uses provide historical context for earlier phases or staging periods.
