How to Check Temporary No Parking (TNP) Reservations in Seattle
Temporary No Parking (TNP) permits may reserve paid or unpaid curb spaces for moving, construction, events, or other approved uses.
You can search for reservations and availability:
- By address (paid or unpaid areas)
- By confirmation number (unpaid areas only)
All searches use the same map. See Access the Map (Required for All Searches).
Helpful Tips
- Not all curb spaces are reservable. See the Curb Spaces tab of the map for more informaiton.
- Paid and unpaid reservations appear in separate tabs.
- If you don’t see a permit right away, check again the next day after the nightly update.
- The map shows permits from 15 days before posting to 15 days after removal.
Access the Map (Required for All Searches)
- Go to the Curb Spaces and Temporary No Parking Map.
- Use the tabs at the top to switch between:
- Temporary No Parking (Paid Areas)
- Temporary No Parking (Unpaid Areas)
Paid Curb Spaces – Search by Address
Step 1: Open the Paid Areas Tab
- Click Temporary No Parking (Paid Areas).
Step 2: Search for an Address
- In the search bar, use the dropdown and select All or Addresses (Seattle).
- Enter the street address.
- You may need to include “Seattle”.
- Search results are limited to six.
- Click the correct address from the list.
Step 3: Check Availability
- The map zooms to the address and drops a pin.
- Check for reservations.
- No colored lines nearby – No current reservations.
- Colored lines nearby – Reservations exist.
Step 4: View Reservation Details
Current tab only shows paid curb spaces. For unpaid curb space reservations, see Unpaid Curb Spaces – Search by Address.
- Click a colored line.
- Review:
- Install date
- Removal date
- If multiple reservations exist, use the arrows in the popup to scroll.
Unpaid Curb Spaces – Search by Address
Step 1: Open the Unpaid Areas Tab
- Click Temporary No Parking (Unpaid Areas).
Step 2: Search for an Address
- In the search bar, use the dropdown and select All or Addresses (Seattle).
- Enter the street address.
- You may need to include “Seattle”.
- Search results are limited to six.
- Click the correct address from the list.
Step 3: Check Availability
- The map zooms to the address and drops a pin.
- Look for No Parking symbols nearby.
- No symbol nearby – No current reservations.
- No Parking symbol nearby – Reservations exist.
- Use + / − to zoom in or out if needed.
Step 4: View Reservation Details
Current tab only shows unpaid curb spaces. For paid curb space reservations, see Paid Curb Spaces – Search by Address.
- Click the No Parking symbol on the map.
- Review:
- Start and end dates
- Times of enforcement
- Whether it’s 24-hour or includes Saturdays
- Use arrows to view multiple reservations if present.
Unpaid Curb Spaces – Search by Confirmation Number
Step 1: Open the Unpaid Areas Tab
- Click Temporary No Parking (Unpaid Areas).
Step 2: Search by Confirmation Number
The confirmation number printed on the Public Notice matches the permit's record number.
- Enter the last five digits of the confirmation number.
Example: SDOT-TNPN-00-12345 - enter 12345. - Click the Search icon.
- Select the permit from the results.
Step 3: View Reservation Details
- Click the No Parking symbol on the map.
- Review:
- Start and end dates
- Times of enforcement
- Whether it’s 24-hour or includes Saturdays
- Use arrows to view multiple reservations if present.
