As a registered Tree Service Provider, you may need to revise your existing registration record to update your business information (name, contact, etc.) or to update registration requirements for Washington State Department of Labor & Industries contractor licensing, insurance, or ISA certified arborist credentials.
To update your Tree Service Provider Registration, you must be signed in to your Seattle Services Portal account.
For assistance or questions, email SDCI at sdci-trees@seattle.gov. You can also contact SDCI through the Submit a Request form.
- To help route your request, indicate that you need help with "Permits, codes, zones, plans"
- Select "Land Use" as the type of help you need
- Select "Trees" in the description field
Steps to Revise Your Tree Service Provider
- Log in to your Seattle Services Portal account
- Select My Records
- Under Filters, set the Record Type filter to SDCI Tree Service Provider Registration
- Locate the Record Number
- If available, select Renew Application to update your registration requirements and renew your application
- If Renew Application is not available, select Make Changes and choose SDCI Tree Service Provider Revision
- Select SDCI Tree Service Provider Revision; click on the Continue Application link
- Your application will be pre-loaded with the information you previously provided when registering; you can update it as follows:
- Review the Contact Information
- To update the Applicant, Financially Responsible Party, or Other Contact information, click Remove
- Follow the prompts and then click on Look Up and enter your updated applicant information
- Click Continue Application
- Update your required Public Registry Information; your updated information will be published in the Tree Service Provider Directory after it's approved.
- Update your required City Business License Details
If the license number is not active, you must resolve the issue with FileLocal before you can submit your application. Select the Save and Resume Later button (located at the bottom right of the page) to continue your application later.
- Unless you only provide tree consulting services, update your active Washington L&I Contractor License Number so the system can confirm the status of your license.

- Update your Certificate of Insurance information
- Review the Contact Information
- Click the Checkboxes to acknowledge all authorized representatives have read and will comply with the Registration Requirements

- To make updates to the International Society for Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist information, check the box on the line to be updated
- Under Actions, select Edit
- Make any updates needed and click Submit
- To add new Certified Arborist staff, click on Add a Row, or click on the dropdown arrow and select the number of rows to add. After entering the information, click Submit.
- Click Continue Application
- Upload the one or more of the following documents to support the information you updated: Certificate of Insurance, Insurance Endorsement, and ISA Certification Card for each Certified Arborist
If you don't have this information, you can select Save and Resume to save your application for completion later. Read Tip 242C - SDCI Tree Service Provider Registry for insurance requirements. For assistance, please contact your insurance broker or agent.
- Click Select to upload documents
- Click Select to find your files on your computer
- Select your file (you can select multiple files) and click Done
- Once all documents are uploaded, select the Type for each uploaded document
- Click Save
- Click Continue Application
- Review your application; click the Edit button if you need to make changes
- Check the certification Check box to sign your application; the date field is automatically set to the current date
- Click Continue Application to submit your application
You will receive a Thank You message to confirm that we have received your application. This message includes your TSP record number and instructions for submitting questions via SDCI’s Online Service.
