Instructions for Extending a Temporary No Parking (Paid Area) Permit
Follow these steps to extend your Temporary No Parking Zone permit when the approved end date is more than two days in the future. For example, if the end date is April 26, an extension can be filed any time prior to or on April 24. Time can be extended but it cannot be reduced.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Log in or Register
- Go to the Seattle Services Portal.
- Log in:
- If you already have an account, log in with your credentials.
- If you don’t have an account, register your existing contact for a new account before proceeding.
Step 2: Start Your Extension Request
- On the My Records page, locate your Temporary No Parking Zone (Paid Area) – License record in the list.

In the Action column associated with your license, click Make Changes.
Note: Make Changes only displays when there are more than two days left on the permit.
Step 3: Provide Extension Information
- On the Curb Space Information page, check the checkbox next to the row you wish to extend.
- Click Edit Selected.
- On the Curb Space popup:
- Enter the Requested Extension End Date.
- Select the Requested Extension End Time from the dropdown.
- Click Submit.
- Click Continue to proceed.
Step 4: Review and Submit
- On the Review page:
- Verify that all information is correct.
- Make edits as needed by clicking Edit.
- Click Continue to submit your extension request.
Step 5: Confirmation Displays
On the Thank You page, a message displays confirming that your extension request is submitted for review.
- Your record number format is SDOT-TNP-00-00000.
- Keep a record of your Record Number.
An email is sent to the contacts notifying them of the extension request submission.
Congratulations! Your request has been submitted for review. The Traffic team will contact you if additional information is required. For questions or updates, email trafficpermitsinfo@seattle.gov.
Once your extension is approved, you will receive an email notifying you of fees due. Follow the instructions in the email to pay the fees.
