How to Register as a RRIO Private Inspector

1. Login to your Seattle Services Portal account or create an account
2. On the Home page, under Create New, click Rental Housing Registration (RRIO)
3. On the next screen, click the Private Inspector Registration bubble and then click Continue Application
4. Enter your contact information using the Select from Account, Add New, or Look Up buttons
5. Click Continue Application  
6. Enter your registration information
   1. A valid City of Seattle business license number is required to be a Qualified Rental Housing Inspector. This can be your employer’s business license number.
   2. Training is required to complete your registration. If no future training date is available in the list, select the option to notify you of future training sessions.
   3. Click the box at the bottom of the form to indicate your acceptance of the terms.
7. Click Continue Application
8. Upload your valid credential by clicking Select
   Note: The City requires a copy of your valid credential to be on file. The credentials we accept are:
   1. American Association of Code Enforcement Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification
   2. International Code Council Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification
   3. International Code Council Residential Building (Code) Inspector certification
   4. Washington State home inspector certification under RCW 18.280
9. Click Select again
10. Browse to the location of your credential document and double click the file
11. Click Done
12. Enter a Document Description and then click Save
13. Click Continue Application
14. Review the entered information; click Edit to make changes
15. Click Continue Application
16. Review your fees, then click Checkout
17. Click Checkout button 
18. Enter your payment card information (or follow the instructions in How Do I Pay by Check?)
19. Click Submit Payment
20. Review your receipt
