- Login to your Seattle Services Portal account or create an account
- On the Home page, under Create New, click Rental Housing Registration (RRIO)
- On the next screen, click the Private Inspector Registration bubble and then click Continue Application
- Enter your contact information using the Select from Account, Add New, or Look Up buttons
- Click Continue Application
- Enter your registration information
- A valid City of Seattle business license number is required to be a Qualified Rental Housing Inspector. This can be your employer’s business license number.
- Training is required to complete your registration. If no future training date is available in the list, select the option to notify you of future training sessions.
- Click the box at the bottom of the form to indicate your acceptance of the terms.
- Click Continue Application
- Upload your valid credential by clicking Select
Note: The City requires a copy of your valid credential to be on file. The credentials we accept are:- American Association of Code Enforcement Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification
- International Code Council Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification
- International Code Council Residential Building (Code) Inspector certification
- Washington State home inspector certification under RCW 18.280
- Click Select again
- Browse to the location of your credential document and double click the file
- Click Done
- Enter a Document Description and then click Save
- Click Continue Application
- Review the entered information; click Edit to make changes
- Click Continue Application
- Review your fees, then click Checkout
- Click Checkout button
- Enter your payment card information (or follow the instructions in How Do I Pay by Check?)
- Click Submit Payment
- Review your receipt
