Trade permits include:
- Boiler-Pressure Vessel
- Conveyance
- Electrical
- Fire Sprinkler
- Furnace
- Refrigeration
- Mechanical
- Side Sewer
- Sign / Awning Permits
- Login to your Seattle Services Portal account or create one if necessary
- Select Home in the upper right corner of the page
- You will be prompted to select your license if you have one connected to your account
- Select your license and click Continue Application
- If you don't have a license, you will be directed to step 4
- Under Create New, select Permits – Trade, Construction & Land Use
- Click on Trade Permits
- Select your desired trade permit from the list
- Click Continue Application
- Fill in your address information and click Search
- If you are presented with an Address Search Result List, choose the correct address by clicking the check box; you do not need to enter parcel or associated owner
- Click Select
- Click Continue Application
- Select your contact information (See How to Add Contacts to Your Application if you need help)
Note: Contractors must be licensed. You cannot add an unlicensed contractor as a contact.
- Click Continue Application
- In the following pages, provide the detailed information specific to the permit you are applying for
- Fill out all required information (indicated by an asterisk), which must be answered to continue
- Some parts of the application will allow you to add additional information; look for the Add a Row button
- When you are done entering information on each page, click Continue Application
- After completing the pages of questions, Attach any requested documents
Note: Most trade permits do not have requested documents, and you can skip to step 17.
- Click Select
- Click Select again in the next pop up screen
- Select the file from your computer
- Click Done
- Select the Type of document and enter a description
- Click Save
- Click Continue Application
- Review your application; click Edit to update any information
- Click Continue Application
- Pay for your permit by clicking Checkout
- Click Checkout again
- Enter your credit card information
- Click Submit Payment
- Collect your receipt and permit
After you complete your payment, you be presented with your new permit number, and we will send you an email notification. Please make sure to read the email as not all permits are issued or valid at this point. You may have additional steps to complete before we can issue your permit.
Once your permit is issued, we will email you a link to a printable copy of your permit.
