Trade permits include Boiler-Pressure Vessel, Conveyance, Electrical, Fire Sprinkler, Furnace, Refrigeration, Mechanical, Side Sewer, and Sign / Awning Permits.
To apply for a Mechanical trade permit, you need to apply for a Building and Land Use Pre-Application. Follow the steps for How to Submit a Construction Subject-to-Field-Inspection.
- Login to your account
- Under Create New, select Permits – Trade, Construction & Land Use
- Select your desired trade permit from the list
- Click Continue Application
- Fill in your address information and click Search
- If you are presented with a Address Search Result List, choose the correct address by clicking the bubble; you do not need to enter parcel or associated owner
- Click Select
- Click Continue Application
- Select your contact information (See How to Add Contacts to Your Application if you need help)
Note: Contractors must be licensed. You cannot add an unlicensed contractor as a contact. - Click Continue Application
- Enter the detailed information regarding the work you will be doing.
- Fill out all required information (indicated by an asterisk) and all additional information you may have
- Click Continue Application
- For some questions, you need to add information by clicking Add a Row
- Enter the information requested
- Click Submit
- When you are done entering information, click Continue Application
- Attach any requested documents
- Click Upload Documents
- Click Upload Documents again in the next pop up screen
- Select the file from your computer
- Click Continue
- Select the Type of document and enter a description
- Click Save
- Click Continue Application
- Review your application; click Edit to update any information
- Click Continue Application
- Pay for your permit by clicking Checkout
- Click Checkout again
- Enter your credit card information
- Click Submit Payment
- Collect your receipt and permit
