We consider renewals to be amendments to your existing records. We track them using the initial record number with a numeric suffix. You can find them under related records for the initial application.
You can start the renewal process through the portal 30 days before your permit expires.
Land Use Permits may be renewed for 2 years.
Shoreline Extensions may be renewed for 1 year if no work has begun at the site, or for 3 years if work has begun.
Why Would I Want to Renew My Permit?
If you have begun work on a project but will not finish work before the permit's expiration date, you may renew your permit. This renewal allows you additional time to complete your project. It also ensures that all reviews are conducted in accordance with the codes and laws that are in place when you renew the original permit (almost always the same codes under which we issued the original permit).
Please note that the life of the Land Use permit continues, even if the expiration date has passed if there is an active associated Construction or Phased permit.
The life of the shoreline permit does not continue if the permit is expired even it there is an active associated construction or phased permit.
What types of Permits can be Renewed or Extended?

- Master use permits (land use)
