Instructions for Extending the Use Date for My Issued Street Use Permit
Follow these steps to extend the end date of your Street Use permit in the Seattle Services Portal. Use an Extension Amendment to add more days and extend your permit. This amendment only increases the time and days you can use the right-of-way (ROW); it doesn’t reduce them.
Extension amendments are available for the following record types. If you need an extension for a permit type not included in this list, use a Revision Amendment.
- ROW Construction Permit
- ROW Maintenance Permit
- Heavy Crane Permit
- Minor Utility Permit
- Utility Major Permit (UMP)
- Street Improvement Permit (SIP)
What You Need to Know About Extension Requests
The Following Rules Apply
- No additional uses of the ROW can be added to the permit.
- No other type of change can be requested.
- If only the start date on one or more uses needs to change but the duration remains the same, refer to How do I Change the Start Date for My Issued Street Use Permit.
- If you need to request changes other than an extension or date change, refer to How Do I Request a Revision to My Issued Construction, Utility, or Street Improvement Permit.
- For other permit types, refer to How Do I Request a Revision to My Issued Vending or Long-Term Public Space Management (PSM) Permit.
General Information
- Amendment applications are reviewed and approved by Street Use staff.
- There are no documents required at the time of submission. They may be requested later.
- A modification fee applies if your request is approved. This fee must be paid (or billed) before your approved Extension is issued.

- For ROW Construction, Maintenance, Heavy Crane and SIP records, the record expiration date is the latest Use expiration date.
