Instructions for Finding and Printing Street Use Permits and Documents
Follow these instructions to find, view, and print documents via the Seattle Services Portal. You have access to three categories of documents:
- Documents uploaded by you via the Seattle Services Portal
- Documents uploaded by Street Use Staff, such as Corrections
- Documents created by the system, such as your Permit or Inspection Result Report
What You Need to Know
- You must log into your Seattle Services Portal account and be a contact on the application or a delegate of one of the contacts to view documents other than the permit.
- You do not need to log in to print a permit.
- Permit documents are on the parent record not on the amendment.
Step-By-Step Guide
Step 1: Log in or Register
- Go to the Seattle Services Portal.

Log in:
- If you already have an account, log in with your credentials.
- If you don’t have an account, register the contact on your permit for an account before proceeding.
Tip: If you want to print your permit, you do not need to login. Skip this step and go to Step 2.
Step 2: Find Your Record
- If you are logged in and a contact on the permit, click on the blue linked Record Number in your My Records list.
- If you are not logged in or not a contact on the permit, click Search All Records. Refer to How Do I Search Existing Records for more search tips.
- If your search results displays multiple records, click the blue linked Record Number to open the record.
- If only one result is found via a search, your record opens automatically.
- Only permit documents can be opened without logging in.
Step 3: Locate Your Document
- On the record, click the Attachments tab.
- Locate your document in the list.
- For records with many documents, there will be multiple pages.
- Click the arrows or numbers at the bottom of the list to change the page.
- The most recent documents display on the last page.
- Click the column header to sort on a column. For example, click on Type to sort the documents by Type.
- For records with many documents, there will be multiple pages.
Step 4: Confirm You Found the Correct Document
There may be multiple documents with the same name. Verify you have identified the correct document.
- Latest Update displays the date the document was uploaded.
- The Document Status displays the document’s status.
- Final approved documents have a status of Approved.
- Old versions of documents have a status of Archive.
- Other statuses indicate the review is still in process.
- Your permit:
- Has a Type of Permit.
- The Name looks like SU005_StreetUsePermit_20201112_105630.pdf.
- Starts with SU005_StreetUsePermit followed by
- Date (YYYYMMDD format) and
- Time (minutes, seconds, milliseconds). Minutes use a 24-hour clock so 13 is 1 PM, 14 is 2 PM, and the like.
- There may be more than one permit document when there is an amendment. To find the most recent document, look for the most recent date and time in the document name.
- Your inspection report:
- Has a Type of Inspection Result.

- Starts with SU016_StreetUseInspectionResult followed by
- Date (YYYYMMDD format) and
- Time (minutes, seconds, milliseconds) the inspection was resulted. Minutes use a 24-hour clock so 13 is 1 PM, 14 is 2 PM, and the like.
- There may be more than one inspection document. To find the most recent document, look for the most recent date and time in the document name.
- Your Corrections document may have different names. Refer to:
Step 5: View and Print Your Document
- To view and print your document, click the blue linked name of the document you want to print.
- If you are logged in and cannot open the document, you are most likely not a contact on the record. Refer to Why Can't I Upload Documents or Make Changes to My Street Use Permit for next steps.
- Follow your browser prompts to open the document. (Some browsers require the document be saved before opening.)
- Use the print option specific to your browser or PDF reader to print the document as you would any other PDF file.
